SCOTS PULL AWAY FROM NORTH FORNEY IN 2ND HALF TO WIN 82-67

The Men’s Highland Park Varsity Basketball Team ended district play with an impressive win on the road over North Forney 82-67. Once again it was a strong team effort in the 2nd half that turned a 1 point halftime lead into an 11 point lead after 3 quarters.
Offensively the Scots had a balanced scoring attack led by Will Enzor with 17 points, Cade Wagner with 15, Alex Staffaroni added 12, Finn Corwin had 10 and Dillon Powell chipped in 9. The Scots delivered another high percentage of 3 point shooting in addition to out-rebounding a bigger North Forney team 32-26.
The Scots have an overall record of 21-11 and finished the regular season of District 15 5A at 10-4 and tied for 2nd place. That sets up a a rematch with Forney High School on Friday night 7:00pm to determine the final seeding for post-season play. The game will be played on a neutral court at Poteet High School in Mesquite.
