The Lady Scots Gymnastics Team placed 3rd at Regional Championships to qualify to the Texas High School State Championships. The girls are currently ranked 5th in the state and are looking to improve on that placement at state on April 27-28.
Junior Tatum Meeks had an outstanding competition. Tatum won the Regional Beam title, was 2nd on Vault, 2nd on Bars, 7th on Floor and 2nd All-Around. Her highest score of the competition was 9.95 on Compulsory Vault. Tatum scored season highs on Compulsory Vault, Compulsory Bars, Compulsory Floor, Compulsory All-Around, Optional Bars, Optional Floor, and Optional All-Around.
Junior Lily Overton placed 7th on Bars, 3rd on Beam, 4th on Floor, and 5th All-Around. Her highest score of the meet was 9.825 on Compulsory Vault. Lily scored season highs on Compulsory Vault, Floor, and All-Around as well as Optional Bars, Beam, and All-Around.
Senior Allison Walters placed 7th on Vault at Regionals. Her highest score of the meet was 9.725 on Compulsory Vault. Allison scored season highs on Optional Bars, Beam, and All-Around.
Junior Captain Katherine Downing placed 10th on Vault. Her highest score of the meet was 9.65 on Compulsory Floor. Katherine scored season highs on Compulsory Vault and All-Around as well as Optional Bars.
Freshman Carly Hart competed in 7 of the 8 events at Regionals. Her highest score of the meet was 9.05 on Compulsory Floor. Carly scored season highs on Compulsory Beam, Floor and All-Around, as well as Optional Bars.
Senior Grayson Gale competed on both days of competition and received her highest score of the meet on Compulsory Floor. She scored season highs on Optional Bars and Beam.
Senior Captain Lexi Epstein competed on Vault scoring a season high on Day 1.
Freshman Marisa Albarran competed on Beam scoring a season high on Day 1.
Freshman Emily Conaty competed on Optional Beam.
State Championships will be hosted by Rockwall-Heath High School on April 27-28, 2018.
