On Saturday, March 23rd, the Lady Scots Track & Field Team hosted the Tracy Wills Invitational. Every year this is a very special day for the Lady Scots. The following information is on the meet program: Tracy Wills was an outstanding Highland Park runner and honor student. She was known for her quick smile and as a fierce competitor. She died suddenly on March 1, 1995 of pneumonia. She was 15 years old. It is in her memory that we compete today.

This year the Lady Scots were host to ten schools: Dallas Sunset, Dallas Thomas Jefferson, Dallas Woodrow Wilson, Frisco Lebanon Trail, Frisco Liberty, Frisco Memorial, Frisco Reedy, Leander Rouse, Uplift Summit International, and Ursuline Academy. The Lady Scots won both the Varsity and JV Divisions. The Varsity set 19 new personal records. The top competitors were Linda Bakich, Izzy Blaylock, Olivia Briggs, Maddie Brown, Ella Brown, Claire Cochran, Olivia Conner, Sarah Dalton, Cameron Fawcett, Erin Harper, Anastasia Helms, Georgia Holsomback, Mary Warriner Kemp, Kate Lampe, Alie Lavish, Lily Marchetto, Emma Means, Caroline Morton, Sophia Oliai, Alli Grace Ott, Ella Patterson, Abigail Schott, Alexis Sharrieff, Meredith Sims, Phoebe Spackman, Maddy Stephens, Elle Thompson.

In the JV Division, the Lady Scots set 16 new personal records. The top competitors were Adelaide Aiken, Kate Allen, Gracyn Applegate, Lily Baumgartner, Hadley Bornemann, Emory Brink, Sara Carlisle, Maddy Collins, Ava Crofford, Kathryn Dunnill, Kendall Ferguson, Anna Gregory, Alexandra Jack, Ellie Jones, Chloe Kanaan, Margaret Kemp, Leah Lavoie, Caroline Lett, Lizzie Means, Rebekah Miller, Ashley Nelson, Shelby Pettit, Scarlett Randall, Ali Reardon, Lola Rodriguez, Kate Rossley, Zoe Sharpe, Breanne Spence, Morgan Stalker, Hannah Thayer, Katelyn Turco, Annemarie Whalen, Olivia Whann, Jax Whiteman, Zoe Wilcox.

This is also a day the team honors the seniors. Class of 2019: Captain Ashley Booe, Captain Ella Brown, Maddie Brown, Taylor Clark, Captain Gracey Cobb, Sarah Dalton, Anastasia Helms, Julia Helton, Captain Claire Kozmetsky, Lily Marchetto, Abbie Meinecke, Ashlyn Meuse, Sally Smith, Sidney Stamm, Captain Maddy Stephens, and Morgan Thompson.

A big thank you to all of the parents and community members who volunteered to help with the Tracy Wills Invitational. We could not host this meet without your help! We appreciate you so much!

The next meet for the Lady Scots is the Mesquite ISD Invitational at Hanby Stadium in Mesquite on Friday, March 29th. The field events start at 12:00 p.m., the 3200 M Run starts at 3:00 p.m., and the rest of the running events start at 6:00 p.m.

Thirteen members of the Lady Scots Track & Field Team will be competing at the Texas Relays on Friday, March 29th and Saturday, March 30th. The team qualified in the 100 M Hurdles, 4 x 200 M Relay, 4 x 800 M Relay, Sprint Medley Relay, and the Distance Medley Relay. The team will also be competing in the 4 x 100 M Relay and the 4 x 400 Meter Relay. The athletes competing on Friday and Saturday are Linda Bakich, Izzy Blaylock, Claire Cochran, Cameron Fawcett, Erin Harper, Mary Warriner Kemp, Emma Means, Alli Grace Ott, Ella Patterson, Abigail Schott, Meredith Sims, Maddy Stephens, and Elle Thompson.

The District 11-5A Track & Field Meet will be held on Thursday, April 4th and Saturday, April 6th at Standridge Stadium in Carrollton.
