HPHS teacher and assistant softball coach Leigh Vickery (pictured back row right) was named by the Texas Girls Coaches Association 5A-6A Sub-Varsity Coach of the year.

In his nomination letter, Head Softball Coach Michael Pullen wrote, "Coach Vickery is dedicated to her craft and spends countless hours coming up with workouts and working with the girls to make them better. Not only is she helping the softball program to excel, she is a valued teacher in the special education department for HPHS... I could not be more proud of her and her high expectations to help each student and athlete at HPHS grow."
