Lady Scots Track & Field Competes at the Lovejoy Invitational

The Lady Scots Track & Field Teams competed at the Lovejoy Invitational on Saturday, March 6th. The Varsity won the meet with 253 points and the JV placed 2nd with 192.5 points. Lovejoy won the JV girls’ division with 204 points. The other teams competing in the meet were Colleyville Heritage and Grapevine.

The Distance Medley Relay set a new school record with a time of 12:18.74. The relay members were Alli Grace Ott (1200), senior captain Elle Thompson (400), Izzy Blaylock (800), and senior captain Cameron Fawcett (1600). The previous record was set in 2013 with a time of 12:20.59 by Catherine Keith, Gabby Crank, Mary Beth Hamilton, and Natalie Rathjen. The new school record is also a new meet record for the Lovejoy Invitational.

The following Varsity athletes set new personal records: Adelaide Aiken (3200 m run and 1600 m run), Izzy Blaylock (400 m dash), Anna Gregory (discus and shot put), Savannah Hinze (100 m hurdles and 300 m hurdles), Ellie Jones (shot put), Monica Kelley (100 m dash), Katherine Anne Massey (pole vault), Katarina McIlveene (pole vault and 100 m dash), Raina Pietrzak (long jump and 300 m hurdles), Mason Prather (discus and shot put), Kate Rossley (200 m dash), Hattie Speicher (long jump, 100 m hurdles), and senior captain Elle Thompson, senior captain Cameron Fawcett, junior captain Abigail Schott, and Raina Pietrzak in the 4 x 400 m relay.

The following JV athletes set new personal records: Emery Clark (200 m dash), Katherine Ann Cochran (pole vault and 300 m hurdles), Kayla Dickerson (triple jump), Brantley Diehl (pole vault), Mia Green (100 m hurdles and 200 m dash), Chloe Haag (long jump), Alexandra Jack (100 m dash), Lowell Shoaf (discus), Katelyn Turco (1600 m run), Parker Wideman (100 m hurdles), Parker Wideman, Charlya Williams, India Roberts, and Emery Clarke in the 4 x 100 m relay, Kayla Dickerson, Williams, Roberts, and Clarke in the 4 x 200 m relay, and Roberts, Mia Green, Linda Bakich, and Dickerson in the 4 x 400 m relay.

The tracksters of the week were Izzy Blaylock, Cameron Fawcett, Alli Grace Ott, Mason Prather, and Elle Thompson.

The next meet for the Lady Scots will be the Coppell II Invitational at the Buddy Echols Stadium at Coppell High School on Thursday, March 11th. The field events and 3200 m run begin at 3:30 a.m., and the running finals at 5:30 p.m.
