Lady Scots are Region II-5A Cross Country Runner-Ups

Congratulations to the Lady Scots Cross Country Team as they pack raced extremely well and placed 2nd at the Region II-5A Championship on Tuesday, October 26th. Lovejoy won the meet with 27 points.

There were 23 teams competing for the Region II-5A Championship and 172 runners. The team scored 62 points and was led by junior Charlotte Hudson. She placed 5th with a time of 19:07.01. Close behind was junior Sara Cavey who placed 8th with a time of 19:10.13. Sophomore Kayla Dickerson placed 15th (19:40.40), junior Grace Hathaway placed 16th (19:43.97), senior captain Alli Grace Ott placed 25th (20:00.05), freshman Ellie Preston placed 33rd (20:24.25), and sophomore Ashley Goldman placed 35th (20:30.60). The alternates were Mary Katherine Diehl, Rylie Galanos, Samantha Meck, and Gracie Spillman.

The top four teams and top 10 individuals not on one of these teams qualified for the State Meet. The next race for the Lady Scots will be the UIL State Meet on Friday, November 5th at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. The race begins at 11:30 a.m.
